Foster City

Foster City Dolphins
(1973-1975)

Foster City Dolphins team was managed by Dan Espinosa and made up of baseball players from community colleges, mostly College of San Mateo and Skyline College. During that time period, the CSM Bulldogs brought in such players as Vince O'Leary, Bob McClure, Jim Lysgard, Joe Berritua and Tink Reynosa, to name a few, while Skyline had Jim Romero, John Armstrong, Dave Azzopardi, Pat Tolintino, and the Fredrico brothers.

The Dolphins played in two leagues during each summer. One was the Peninsula League on Sunday with the Burlingame Braves (run by Art Belli), Palo Alto Oaks and Berkeley Kings. On Tuesday and Thursday nights, they played in Jerry Fontanetti's night league at Washington Park in Santa Clara, whereas on Saturday, it was Fontanetti's traveling league.
