Del Paso All-Stars
Del Paso was a bar in North Sacramento (unincorporated area at the time), located on Rio Linda Boulevard at corner of South Avenue. The building is still standing. There were several bars and a barbershop in Black neighborhood.
This was the baseball team the year before the Blackwell All-Stars existed. During this time, black ball players were excluded from getting on teams in Sacramento in the Top Leagues. Norman Blackwell took the top Players and formed his own team "The Blackwell All-Stars". The two managers who gave the black ball players a chance to play in the top Sacramento League teams were Al Simas and Dale Millie. "None of us will ever forget them" - John Blackwell
