Captain Bill Erwin Post No. 337 was sponsored by E. Bercovich and Son Furniture Company and a top notch team with a number of future major league players. Erwin Post won the national championship in 1949 and 1950. Over the years the teams were capable of beating good semi-pro outfits in the east bay.
