Folsom Prison

Folsom State Prison was built in 1880 and is the second oldest prison in California next to San Quentin. The state prison was given the postal address of Represa, CA because of its proximity to the dam, which translated from the Spanish word "repressa" for dam.  Both Folsom State Prison and California State Prison, Sacramento (SAC) share the Represa postal address. In 1955, this dam was renamed Folsom Dam.
